Everyone has dreams. You might dream of getting a good job, buying a Rolls Royce, writing a great novel, owning a large home, etc. Many of us feel one has to be lucky to get what they want. Do you believe so? Why is it that some get what all they want and others just dream and leave it at that?

Those who get their dreams fulfilled are human beings just like you and me. They are able to realize their dreams because they focus on them. The basic factor that drives them towards achieving their dreams is focus. While we generally dream and forget about it, those who want to materialize their dreams are serious about it and focus on getting what they want and, they do!

What does focus mean and how does it help? Focus means concentrating. Focusing means concentrating on your thoughts, ideas, images and dreams. First of all you should clarify what you really want and build your concentration on that object or idea. Here are a few steps that would help to make your dreams come true.

Know your dream : You should know the exact end result of your dream. Normally we worry about the ways of getting there. But instead of thinking about the ways, just get a clear picture of what you want in your mind. You could imagine how you would feel once you get what you want. If you dream of a big house, for example, imagine decorating that house, plan parties there, etc. in your own mind. Your picture should be clear in your head. You should focus on the end result rather than on the means to get that.

Clarify your reason for wanting this particular dream
Once you place your dream clearly in your mind, look inside yourself to find out why you are particular about this dream. The reason would make you understand the seriousness of your eagerness to make your want stronger. This is essential to achieve your dream.

Concentrate on the object of your dream , This is an important step. Dream your desire everyday. Set aside at least five to ten minutes a day, close your eyes and imagine that you have already achieved your dream. Feel those happy emotions you would feel when your dream becomes a reality.

Work towards your dream : Take small steps towards the direction of your dream. You could collect information related to your dream, read books that might help you to realize your dream, talk to friends or relatives who might help you or encourage you, etc. Small steps taken everyday are major leaps towards your dream.

Be persistent : Persistence is important in following up your dream. Once you know, clarify and concentrate on working towards your dream, you should diligently follow through until you achieve it. You must be consistent in following with the steps everyday until you succeed.

Never give up : As you work towards your dream there may be times when you might face slip backs; friends and relatives may discourage you. Sometimes you might even feel that it is beyond your reach. If you are sincerely eager for this dream to come true, never stop trying to reach for it.

Now that you know the ways, reach for your dream and you are already on the way to materializing them.
