Missing You on Christmas, Poem

By: Lauries Legends Article Submission Service

Its Christmas Eve and I Am sitting here,
Wishing that I was with my family,
Really wanting them to be near.

The tears I have to fight
As they swell up in my eyes,
I am hiding it from my kids,
I am trying to keep the sadness, in disguise.

For it's been years since I have been home,
And my parents are growing old,
Christmas, its really for the kids,
At least that is always what we've been told.

With that in mind, I have to smile,
As my youngest two, happily go off to bed,
No one even had to tell them to do this,
I can just imagine the thoughts running through their heads.

I say a prayer of gratitude, I smile
and feel a warmth inside my heart.
For really, all of my family are actually with me,
At least in my thoughts, and in my heart.

Dedicated to my parents and sisters, in Montana, from Washington State.
